    Vary widely in appearance, size and skull shape. Usually smaller than a wolf. Dogs often have a higher forehead and shorter rostrum than wolves or coyotes.

    Postorbital process convex on dorsal surface, unlike foxes. Upper canines do not extend below mandibular mental foramina (unlike C. latrans, see previous slide).
